1. Purchasing Your COVID-19 Test In Greenville

To purchase your COVID-19 test in Greenville, select the Learn More And Buy button that takes you to this page here. Read all the instructions and notes, then click the link to buy below the instructions. The form will ask when you want the collection done, it will ask for demographic information (birthday, address, race, gender, etc.) and you will enter your credit card information. Then you’ll get an email with your order number, the day you purchased for and the location. We will also send you a calendar invite with the day, time and location of your test.

 uMedMarket will not share your information except for South Carolina Public Health purposes. We will share your name, DOB, gender, address and phone number as required by the state. We will NOT share your information with anyone else.*

2. Be At The Testing Location At The Specified Time

At the day and time of your test, drive to the specified location within the window of time you chose. If you are late there is a chance we will leave and not be able to test you.

3. Go To The Open Drive-Through Lane And Stay In Your Car

Once you pull up, uMedMarket staff will ask your name, verify that we have all the right information and give you the test kit. The entire process will not require you to leave your car. This will help ensure proper social distancing.

4. The COVID-19 Test Kit

The test kit we provide will include several things:

  1. A test tube (with a liquid inside) labeled with your name, DOB, order number, and date of collection. DON’T OPEN THE TUBE UNTIL AFTER THE NASAL SWAB IS COMPLETE!
  2. A swab for the collection.

You must verify that the tube label and demographic form are correct and match.

5. Collecting The Sample

We will instruct and supervise your collection of the sample. Any questions about the test can be asked at that time. Watch the video below so you know what to expect.

6. Deposit The Sample

Give your test tube to us. Then you’re done! Drive on home.

7. Results Of COVID-19 Test

We will send your test results by email, usually before midnight. While we target same day turnaround with results by midnight, sometimes they can take longer. 95% of the time they are back by midnight, 5% of the time samples take up to 48 hours due to re-running of samples, high lab testing volume and/or catastrophic lab events.

RT-PCR, which is a type of PCR test.

It IS NOT an antigen or antibody test.

We will email you when they are available.

We typically see results before 11pm that same day. 98% of the time they are back by 11pm, 1.5% within 24 hours and 0.5% in about 36 hours (due to catastrophic lab issues). On rare occasions, samples have to be re-run. Re-runs typically come back the following day. While rare, it is out of our control and we take no responsibility for re-run delays.

The paperwork looks like one of these two reports.

We cannot change, modify or add to this paperwork beyond perhaps adding a passport number as a special request.

The paperwork shows that it is RT-PCR, the date/time of collection, the result, patient name and DOB, the lab’s CLIA number.

Once you purchase we will send you a calendar invite (it may take us a few hours because we do a custom one for each person) for your appointment. This invite includes the day, time and location of the test.

We do collections every morning, 7 days a week, between 6am and 8am. The lab only runs tests in the morning so collecting at 3pm would only mean the sample sits there for 18 hours doing nothing. Therefore we don’t do collections outside our morning window.

The state requires the demographic information for each person getting tested, so each person has to fill out the form with that information.

We can reschedule, just contact us. If you need to cancel and would like a refund, we can refund $170 (because it costs us $30 to send out refunds).

Yes it does. We are working 7 days per week.

We do! We need a parent/guardian to be present to administer the collection (we have doctors present to observe and instruct). We can do tests for any age.

Morning Of Testing

No. We only do the collections in the morning. You are welcome to sign up for tomorrow as long as it is before 8:00pm.

Nope! We use a collection method called a “mid-turbinate” collection. It is one of the four FDA approved collection methods. It only goes about 1″ into your nose, not the 6″ that the typical hospital swab (called nasopharyngeal) goes in. You do the collection yourself (this helps us maintain social distancing). This method is arguably better because you (the patient) doesn’t pull back and you’re able to collect more media from the patient.

We will be there at on open Drive-Through lane. Pull into the open lane and and we will start the process. Stay in your car the whole time, please.

The collection is called a mid-turbinate collection. We believe it can be more accurate than the nasopharyngeal because the patient doesn’t retract in pain. Mid-turbinate is one of the 4 recommended methods by the CDC.

The test itself is a RT-PCR test, which is a subset of PCR tests. 

Yup! We recommend social distancing of course, but if you live with your family and are all getting tested, you can all come in one car!
